Obituary of Annie Eliza Belyea

With appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Anne Belyea announces her passing, which occurred on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Pine Glen, NB on July 22, 1922, she was a daughter of the late William and Janey (Storr) Crossman and wife of the late Gray Belyea. Anne was a kind, caring woman who was actively involved with her community. She supported many local charities and volunteered for over 30 years at Meals on Wheels. She also devoted many hours giving her time to St. John Ambulance, and assisted the ACW for various Anglican churches. She worked for many years at Wiezel Brother’s Shoe store in uptown Saint John, where she met and fell in love with her late husband, Gray. Anne will be missed by her step-daughter, Margaret Docherty; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and her church family. In addition to her husband and parents, Anne was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Thorne; a nephew Glen Thorne (Shirley) and a niece, Donna Wilson. Anne’s family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the staff of 5C North and 3B North at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their compassionate care during Anne’s stay with them. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, which will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel.
