Obituary of James Harold Connolly

With heavy hearts, the family of Jim Connolly, husband of Wanda Burgess, announce his passing on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born December 14, 1934 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Harold and Margaret (Greer) Connolly. Jim was a songwriter and musician; he lived for music and loved to play his guitar. An avid outdoorsman in his younger days, he enjoyed camping, fishing, trapping, and logging, and was a guide and woodsman for a time. Jim lived in Montreal for over 20 years before returning home, where his heart was, to work at UNB in Fredericton as a Computer Programmer. He was also a Korean War Veteran, serving from 1952-1955. In addition to his loving wife, Wanda, Jim is survived by his daughters, Sharon Rosborough (Floyd) of Prince William, and Laura Connolly (Curt) of Fredericton; step-daughters, Angela J. Dunham and Candace Dunham-Slattery; sisters, Mary Thompson and Sharon Gray, both of Saint John and Terri Connolly-Smith of Ontario and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Doreen (Dallow); sister, Margaret "Peggy" Francis Craggette; and his infant brother, Timothy Connolly. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 2 pm from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be announced at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or the Extra Mural Program would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
