Obituary of Donnie Guthrie

With heavy hearts, the family of Donnie Guthrie announce his peaceful passing on Monday, July 23, 2018 at his residence in the Carleton-Kirk Lodge Nursing Home. Born June 20, 1952 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Clifford and Margaret (McCullough) Guthrie. Donnie was always happy; he loved to laugh and be around those he loved. His loving family and the staff and residents at Carleton-Kirk Lodge will miss him dearly. Donnie is survived by his siblings: Carl Guthrie (Cathy), Nancy Watson (Peter), Michael Guthrie (Karen), and Connie Dunham (John); godchildren, Christopher and Justice Miller; aunts, Mary Guthrie and Jean Brown; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas "Tommy" Guthrie. The family would like to thank Dr. Grant, and Donnie’s extended family at Carleton-Kirk Lodge, especially Nurse Cindy, for their care and friendship. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). Visiting will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 11 am to 1 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Carleton-Kirk Lodge would be appreciated by the family.
