Obituary of Grace Carrie Janes

With family by her side, Grace, daughter of the late Silas and Stella Mawhinney, died peacefully on August 17, 2018 at Shannex Tucker Hall, Saint John, NB. Grace always put others before herself. She was a life long member of Trinity Anglican Church in Maces Bay as well as the ladies ACW. She enjoyed knitting, word finds, cooking but most of all spending time with family and friends. Grace is survived by her daughters, Nancy Dixon and Peggy Cogswell (Bruce) both of Saint John; sister, Eileen Ingersoll (the late Donald) of Grand Manan; brother, Silas Mawhinney (Marjorie) of Maces Bay; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and loving husband Reginald of 53 years, she was predeceased by daughters, Linda Gilmore and Sheila Janes; grandson, Trent; son-in-law, Graydon Dixon as well as several half brothers and sisters. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), with visiting on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 2 PM from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in Maces Bay Cemetery. Reception to follow at Fundy Bay Seniors Hall. Donations in memory of Grace can be made to Maces Bay Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice.
