Obituary of Norma Charlotte Golding

The family of Norma Golding sadly announce her peaceful passing on August 24th 2018 at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home. Norma was born on October 20th 1928 and was a daughter of the late William P. and Tressa (Bailey) Golding. Norma will be sadly missed by her sister, Dorothy (late Don Beaman), her brother, Allan (Pauline Lingley), 9 nieces and nephews, Ann, Don, Sandra, Wade, Gary, Sherry, Sue, Trish and Jennifer, 14 great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a nephew, Shawn Allan Golding, and an infant sister, Tressa Jane Golding. Norma spent all her life living in Fairville (Saint John West) and worked at TS Simms for 46 years until her retirement. She enjoyed being on the bowling team at Simms and attending functions such as Christmas parties. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s United Church where she taught Sunday school, was a past member of the Senior Choir (she loved to sing), past member of the UCW and enjoyed volunteering as a Welcomer on Sundays. Many may remember seeing Norma as she was usually to be found walking to many destinations throughout Lancaster. She enjoyed stopping in to her favorite places to enjoy a cup of tea and a donut. Thank you to the ladies of St. Mark’s Church who visited with Norma on a regular basis, her minister Reverend John Roy for his many visits and a special thank you to Debbie for her many visits and caring manner. Thank you also to the Carlton Kirk Nursing Home, doctors, nurses and staff, for their wonderful care. Norma certainly enjoyed the activities provided by their Recreation Department. Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home (Bayview) with visitation on Wednesday, August 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 30th at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mark’s United Church, Dexter Drive, Saint John West with a reception following in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mark’s United Church or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
