Obituary of Christina Louise Crawford

With heavy hearts, the family of Christina Crawford announce her unexpected passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Born May 2, 1931 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late William and Laura Kyle. Christina was a Postmaster at the Welsford Post Office for many years, and was a member of the Welsford Women’s Institute and the Postmasters’ Association. Christina is survived by her children, Brian Crawford and Linda Melvin (Mike); grandchildren: Naomi Melvin, Holly Crawford-Ireland, Natasha Melvin-Scribner, Tyrel Crawford, and Heather Melvin-Moffatt; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Marion Whalen; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters: Kay, Claire, and Joan; and brothers, Charlie and Kenneth. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1 pm at Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. Interment will follow in Welsford United Church Cemetery.
