Obituary of John Clifford Parker

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John "Jack" Clifford Parker, which occurred on Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Welsford, N.B. Born in Welsford, he was the son of the late Jessie Mae (McCracken) and Hardie Parker. He is survived by his loving wife Jean (Sambles) Parker of 61 years; Daughter Jill Carson (Paul); four grandchildren Justin Parker, Kara Carson, Sara Richards (Rob) and Julie Parker (Kevin); two great-grandchildren Olivia and Avery Richards, who were his pride and joy; siblings Joan Lyon, Madelyn Thorne and Donald Parker (Cathy); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law Susan and William Sambles; son William Clifford Parker; brother Billie Parker; sister Connie Gaudet; brothers-in-law Ralph Lyon, Edward Thorne, Donald Sambles, William Sambles, and Carl Scullion; sisters-in-law Gertrude Scullion, Lena Sambles, Norma Sambles and Muriel Sambles; nephew Kevin Thorne. Jack was a member of the Welsford United Church. He was owner and operator of Welsford Forest Products LTD for 48 years. Prior to that, he worked for H.C. Parker and Sons, Vallis & Powell and Speedway Express. He loved the outdoors and time spent at his camp in Cranberry Lake with family and friends. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John. Visitation will be held from 1:30 – 2:30 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2018. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 2:30 PM. Interment at Welsford Valley Cemetery will take place in the spring.
