Obituary of Barry Edward Hector
The family of Barry Edward Hector of Grand Bay – Westfield are sad to announce his unexpected passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 5th, 2019. Born in Saint John, NB, on May 19, 1959, he was the son of Edward George Hector and the late Marlene (Alston) Hector.
Barry was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed being out and about in his neighborhood visiting and chatting with all who knew him, especially the Smith family who were like family to him. He loved riding his bike in the summer and watching old TV shows, as well as his weekly trips to the Coffee Mill for lunch.
Barry is survived by his father: Edward; his two sisters: Trudy (Brian) Dykeman of Grand Bay – Westfield, and Gail (Tim) Cormier of Musquash; nephew: Curtis (Beth) Dykeman; nieces: Stephanie (Scott) Foley and Brittany Cormier (Jon Ewart); great nephews: Anderson and Kendric Foley; great niece: Baby Violet Marlene Ewart; one aunt; and several cousins.
Barry was predeceased by his mother Marlene and his Grandparents.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at 4CN for all their compassion and care that was shown to Barry during his short stay. It is very much appreciated by his family.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425 where visiting will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 2 PM to 5 PM. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Barry’s family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
