Obituary of Alexis Marie Smith

It is with broken hearts that the family of Alexis Marie Smith announce her passing on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her loving family at her side. Born on February 12, 1998 in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of Winston and Judith (Adey) Smith. Alexis was an amazing and loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and was a great friend to many, but will be fondly missed in the "Fearsom Five". She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Alexis played soccer and was a member of the 2011 Provincial Team Champions. She was also involved in cheerleading and was a dancer at Center Stage. Alexis loved to go four wheeling with her dad and had a great passion for painting. She was a student and peer helper of St. Rose and Barnhill Schools, and was recently looking forward to many interests and activities at Saint John High School. She is survived by her parents, Winston and Judith; siblings, Steven (Tasha) and Rachel Smith; two nephews, Isaiah and Connor; grandparents, John and Mary Adey, Anthony Smith and Sandra Smith. Alexis is also survived by three aunts, Dawn Adey, Margaret (Darrell) Johnson and Wendy (Allan) Crawford; four uncles, John (Debbie) Adey, Bill (Jamie) Smith, Wayne (Solange) Smith and Willis (Susan) Smith; seven cousins, Lauren Adey, Christopher Johnson, Samantha Adey, Brayson and Allie White, Jennie and Julia Crawford. She was predeceased by her infant uncle, Mark Adey. Special thank you to the amazing team on 6 Link and PICU at the IWK for your care and compassion and the staff of 4A South of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). At the family’s request there will be no formal visitation.
