I have had many conversations with Joost about community and support services for people with disabilities. He was a man with many stories and knowledge on many levels. As a fellow Kiwanian, I watched him give back to his community with such caring and compassion. He will be missed by many but his service to Kiwanis and to the community will be remembered. Condolences to his family and friends.

It was such an honour to have been friends with Joost and Lydie. While we are awash in media coverage of the narcissistic and greedy, there fortunately have been folks that were modest, hourable, caring and responsible.
Joost had a life that was long, loving and loved by Lydie. I find it difficult to think of one without the other.
Consoling thoughts to Glen and Alan.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all the von Weiler Family. We first made connections through the Unitarian Church. Joost was a kind, generous and loving man. He cared deeply about Lydie and his children. Holding you in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn and grieve. Eckart and Donna Schroeter
