We were saddened to learn of Isadore's death and extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences tobyou for your loss. He was a wonderful friend. We have many fond memories of sharing dinner with him at his three favourite restaurants in the city. He appreciated the company, and we enjoyed his company. And for many years he represented the Jewish Veterans Association at the City's annual Service of Remembrance and offered the invocation. Our caring thoughts and prayers are with you all, as you reflect on his long life and many contributions to his family, his faith, his businesses, and his community. Most sincerely,

Dear Sally, you may or may not remember me but I was your fathers letter carrier for about 6 years and I did have the privilege of meeting you more than once and I just wanted to say I certainly enjoyed looking after your Dad. He was a real gem. He was always pleasant and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He did miss your mother though and now I am sure they are happily reunited. Take care. We have lost a great person and we need more people like him.

Mr. Davis was such a gentleman, of the old school, who exuded quiet confidence, and happiness. When I met him in 1970 I thought he was just like a movie star! After I got to know him a bit I found he was so funny and very kind. I will miss him and he will remain in my mind as not only the great dad of a lovely family, but as the emblem of a time in Saint John which was really special. A 'classy' time.....

Dearest Davis family, What can I say after reading what everyone else has so beautifully written! My thoughts and feelings about your dear Dad is much the same as others have expressed. We are saddened to hear of his passing, but you can find comfort knowing what wonderful, caring "children"you were to him . We last saw Izzy several years ago here in Vancouver, when he came to shul with Glenn. He was always happy to see us,as we were to see him ! To say the Davis-Guss bond was and always will be so exquisite and strong is an understatement. We send our love to each of you and your families now and always. Martha Guss & Rob Rosenbaum

He was a major part of the glue that held the community together. In his later years I don't think he ever missed a shabbat service if he was in town. You could set your watch by him. We know you have wonderful memories. Hold them close. May his memory be a blessing. Ellis and Teri Levine

Dear Richard, Fred, Glen, Danny, and Sally, The Koven Family knew what a fine man I.J. was, but my boys, Bill and Matt, [men now] on occasion would drive him home from the Mall. They never failed to tell me how nice he was and how they enjoyed his company on the ride home. The community will sorely miss him, as will you.
